Greetings, Brothers and Friends. I am Charles E. Martin (acting) Worshipful Master of Land, Sea,and Air Lodge #1, Al Asad Iraq. We are the only operating lodge in Iraq. Please spread the word about our lodge and our website:
www.dcmetronet.com/landseaandairlodge1iraq
We are soliciting individuals, lodges, and masonically-affiliated groups to support us in getting our lodge started, and in getting other masonic lodges underway in Iraq. You can help by donating masonic equipment and furniture to us. We need aprons, masonic bibles, working tools, and all the necessary equipment for a working lodge. Please consider donating new or used masonic equipment to us. What we do not use, we will transfer on to other lodges as they form up.
We also are starting an endowment fund. We are soliciting monetary donations to assist our lodge and other lodges in purchasing lodge supplies; secretarial supplies, presentation aprons, etc. We are also supporting welfare/morale activities for the troops here. We are going to purchase games, video games, pool cues, dart boards, magazines, and all of the materials that the troops enjoy in their brief off-duty time. The recreation hall here is good, but their supplies are old and worn out. The troops read magazines, and the rec hall is out of magazines.
Please talk us up with your lodges and masonically-affiliated groups. If you can help with supplies or monetary donations, just visit our web site, or e-mail the WM (charles.martin20@us.army.mil) directly.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Charles E. Martin
